People mistake addictive behaviors as only being related to drugs and alcohol. That is not really the case. Addictive behavior can be any form of behavior that you have an urge or craving to do that you cannot consciously control. And if you consider or have tried stopping this behavior, you often find yourself feeling empty or down. Many times this behavior intereferes with some area of your life and in turn interferes with the growth and success in that area either it is in relationships, business, money, health, or happiness. Such behaviors also range from mild to severe in how much it affects our functioning. Addictive behaviors can be constantly checking your email, talking on the phone, surfing the internet, drinking, drugs, constantly trying get rich scams, attracting a certain type of person in your life, watching t.v., working long hours, exercising too much, eating too much, too little, porn, or sexual addiction, playing video games, procrastinating, finding causes to fight for. Addictive behavior can be anything that is keeping you from doing what you really want to do.
